The Old Springdalians Association came into being in the early 70’s and now is a vibrant, energetic and resourceful body of over two thousand members which is regularly engaged with its Alma mater to enrich the students experience in multifarious fields and to make them aware of the needs of the under privileged in the society. The OSA is guided in all its activities by its motto “Value, Vision and Harmony”.
Reaching Out
The Old Springdalians Association regularly holds large-scale health camps, literacy programmes and community service projects where a large number of old students and parents participate. In its endeavour to make a difference in the lives of the deprived and needy OSA endeavoured to take up several initiatives under its ‘ LIVING IS GIVING ‘ programme..
SWASHAKTI a vocational training centre has been set up at Pusa Road to provide vocational skills to empower young women and to enable economically weaker section children to become wage earners for their families. Over one hundred boys and girls have been trained in computer skills, stitching and tailoring, beauty and health care and all of them are now gainfully employed. The centre has attained recognition from the Jan Shiksha Sansthan, Government of India.
KAAMYAAB has been set up at Dhaula Kuan to impart basic skills and personality development to young children from slum colonies to give them an opportunity to fulfil their aspirations and realize their dreams. Several of these children have got admission into good schools.
Saath-Saath Learning Center for inclusive education began in July 2006 in order to further enhance the inclusive educational programme of the school. The inclusive educational programme aims at promoting an environment whereby the differently abled or special needs students can get further help towards their social, emotional & academic development. Springdales has a growing number of children with special needs like the visually impaired, mentally challenged & also those that require remedial help. The students visit the center regularly & are also helped by their “Mentors” - the students of std. XIth & XIIth . The environment promotes learning by means of creative activities, play therapy etc. An inclusive policy in school is beneficial in sensitizing & bringing together all its students. The Center welcomes the differently abled & celebrates the diversity & individuality of all children braking the barriers of ability & disability, class & backgrounds. Truly we are Saath-Saath.
