BOOK –WEEK 2010THEME: Changing Classrooms of the 21st Century
August 7, 2010

On the occasion of the Book Week, Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan organized a special screening of Visual Presentations created by the students and the faculty. The Grand Exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Rajni Kumar, Chairperson of the Springdales Education Society, in the presence of Dr. Jyoti Bose, Principal, Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan, the staff and students. The exhibition also showcased the theme of the Book Week Changing Classrooms of the 21st Century through the class boards and projects made by the students.

Earlier, the Book Week was inaugurated by Dr Kiran Datar, Former Principal of Miranda House, Dean of Colleges, Delhi University. The inauguration took place as a special assembly, portraying the journey of the book week thus far through various stage presentations and an award giving ceremony to the avid readers of 2009.   Keeping with our commitment towards imparting holistic education, we realized the challenge of transforming classrooms. The challenge is to bridge the gulf between what the education system provides and what the students of the 21st century need. The answer lies in making  the classroom experience more ‘inclusive’ All the presentations were based on specific aspects of this theme. Each class was assigned a sub theme and designed their visuals around that theme.

The exhibition was highly appreciated by the members of the Managing committee and other distinguished guests. Parents accompanied by the students thronged to the venue and commended the effort that went into creating the visual presentations. To top it all, the best names of the Publishing World had put up a large collection of Books .One could see the voracious readers and the equally excited parents indulging readily.  The morning was a treat for the eye and food for the intellect. A show not to be missed!
